The USS Arizona Reunion Association was organized 4 December 1976 in Tucson, Arizona by 21 men, all shipmates who served on board. In 1989 The USS Arizona Crew-Kin, Inc. (wives and relatives) merged into the USS ARIZONA REUNION ASSOCIATION, INC. In 1994 the By-Laws were amended to permit "FRIENDS OF THE ARIZONA" (not qualified as above) to join with limited membership. The by-laws were again amended in 2000 to allow "Friends" to hold office.

In 2007 the board voted to hold the 2008 reunion in Hawaii. This is a change from holding the reunion in Hawaii every 5 years. Another change is that reunions will no longer be held exclusivly in Tucson. Reunion locations will now be voted on annualy by the membership in attendance at each reunion.
