USSARIZONA.ORG WEBSITE AWARDS |
|
Over the years we have received many awards for our website.
We want to thank everyone who has honored us with these awards. We feel privilaged to have so many wonderful awards and comments about this website.
These awards not only honor the website, but the men of the U.S.S. Arizona and those who gave their lives at Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec 1941. These men and their families are the true recipients of the many awards our website has recieved.
Without their stories, their joys and their sorrows, their pain and their tears, and most of all their sacrifice... there would be no website.
Remember Pearl Harbor!
Awards We Have Received
Talking Hands Award ~ 5 May 2008
Citation: Our singular purpose is to reward web site authors, who through their creative excellence provide a web site which teaches, contains teaching elements in sufficient detail, and otherwise leave a visitor with something of significant value after returning to their normal daily activities.
Laudation: Those of us who were alive as World War II unfolded have heard, read or seen the words "least we ever forget" which vividly reminds all that those who fought, will one day no longer roam mother earth.
So we are thankfully left with reminders in excellent multimedia detail, like the presentation of the USS Arizona and the Pearl Harbor Memorial, of the men and women who gave their lives so that we who are living, may continue to protect with vigilance, our freedoms.
I. B. Nease, USNR (retired) has given us features, stories, lists, history, media, writers and a bookstore packed with unforgettable reminders and memories.
Let us never "forget to forget," hence my nomination for this outstanding web site, for the Talking Hands Award.
Reviewer: D. B. R.
Key teaching element: History.
