The USS
Nevada BB-36 was the end vessel of Battleship Row, the only battleship to get underway during the height of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Robert Taylor's painting depicts the gallant dash attempted by her crew to get their ship in the open sea. As the
Nevada moved towards the main channel she quickly became the target for Japanese dive bombers. In danger of sinking in and blocking the harbor channel, she was beached at Hospital Point.
