I'm Budd Nease, USNR (Ret). Welcome to our website. Many of you who visit our web site believe I am a USS Arizona Survivor. I am not a survivor or a former crew member. l am an Historian. My family lost a sailor friend on December 7, 1941 (see My Buddies & Me below). I have devoted fifty years of my life to the history of the USS Arizona and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. This website is devoted to the history of the USS Arizona and her crew, as well as the Survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941.
At the present time I am the Historian for the USS Arizona Reunion Association as well as Ship's Crew Data Chairman and Public Relations Chairman. I am also an Honorary Member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.
I joined the US Naval Reserve in 1949 at age 17 while still in High School. I later transferred to the Air Wing. In 1966 I was a crew member on Navy Cargo Planes (C-118's) flying cargo from Barbers Point, Hawaii to DaNang, Vietnam. I retired in 1970 with over 21 years in both active duty and the reserves.
During my civilian life I was with two Police Departments retiring with 23 years of service.
Our website contains many historical photos, survivor and crew stories, USS Arizona history and statistics, Pearl Harbor casualty & survivor lists, poetry, and much more. We are constantly adding new and interesting items as I come across them.
Thank you for your interest in our website and I hope you will continue to visit us.
