U.S.S. Yorktown
I. Budd Nease PH2 aboard the USS Yorktown CVS 10. June 1962 (standing aft of the island holding a large camera. Only one in group looking toward camera). Active duty with VS771 1961-1962 Anti-Submarine Squadron. One of our aircraft (S2F) taking off in lower right of photo.

The Yorktown is the second carrier to be named so. The original Yorktown CVA 5 was sunk early in WWII. CVA 10, and later CVS 10 saw battle in the latter part of the war in the Pacific. The flight deck of the Yorktown was only 900 feet long. The Yorktown is now a museum at Patriots Point in South Carolina.
